For those seeking a ceramic ring solution we now offer this aftermarket item for direct fitting in place of the original Unipart item.
Will this work as well as the cermic seal. YES
We have used this type in our own car for 100,000 miles with no leak.
This is brought about by regular use although in recent years it is used less.
However use of a header tank has ensured the impeller is always covered in coolant thus no corrosion to tear the seal.
We believe the graphite to impeller may give a better seal than ceramic, especially if impeller is machined with very fine annular grooves, ie lift and replace tool when cutting.
Additionally a lower pressure can be used meaning easier turning and less camshaft load.
